Timeline Dates and times of all future events are subject to change based on the needs of the game. May 1998 → Battle at Hogwarts June 1998 → Muggleborn prisoners are pardoned and released from Azkaban September 1998 - June 1999 → Hogwarts is closed for reconstruction. An alternative location provides classes for students, though student enrollment is down. Students in Harry’s year have three options: Go straight into work and decide not to take the NEWTs. June 1999 → NEWTs take place August 1999 → NEWTs scores are released September 1999 → Hogwarts reopens. Now that the school is reopened, the Ministry’s focus is on the victims of the war. Over the next two years, they create programs for the following causes Aid to Orphans June 21, 2001 → “The Longest Night” Muggle religious zealots mistake a solstice festival for an act devil-worshipping due to failed security efforts by the Ministry’s security division. 27 wizards and witches were killed by gun fire. July 2001 Security employees were fired. The Muggles responsible are sought out and obliviated. The Ministry considers the situation handled, but is working on creating tighter security methods. September 11, 2001 Word of the attacks on the World Trade Center installs fear into the Wizarding world. If Muggles treat themselves this way, another leak into the Wizarding world could create even greater chaos. Isolationist political group begins to form. October 31, 2001 → Isolation RPG Begins November 2001 Protests begin against the ministry. Minister of Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt is criticized for his apparent apathy toward Muggle terrorism. Isolationists threaten a rebellion against the government. December 2001 Headmistress McGonagall discovers that the Book of Names has been stolen from Hogwarts. January 1, 2002 Minister Shacklebolt dies mysteriously in his sleep, Minister is quickly replaced by Isolationist support Tabitha Covington. February 2002 Financial support for relief efforts toward individuals who suffered during the war begins to dwindle. The Ministry’s focus is shifting to protecting Wizarding society. April 2002 Bans are issued by the government against Muggle forms of arts and entertainment. May 2002 Word of the increase in Muggleborn infant’s deaths gains attention in the Wizarding world. Some suspect members of the Isolationist Group are responsible for killing Muggleborn children to prevent them from attending Hogwarts. Unionist political group becomes more active. June 2002 Not content with the ban on Muggle arts and entertainment, Ministry officials prompt raids - allowing officials to enter individual’s homes to remove the objects or to fine people they witness participating in prohibited activities. July 2002 Deaths are no longer limited to Muggleborn infants, but now include children up to eleven. Selected family members or spouses of Muggleborns are are also being targeted. The Ministry claims to have no involvement, however Wizards and Witches who are married to Muggles are being publicly identified. August 2002 Muggle Culturalists begin to hold secret meetings to share their love of Muggle Culture. At these meetings they listen to Muggle music, read books, watch films, etc. These parties are occasionally found and broken up - participants are jailed for putting the safety of Wizarding society at risk. September 2002 There are no Muggleborn First Years attending Hogwarts for the first time since 1997. The difference is not that they are prohibited from attending - there are simply none in existence. October 2002 Fearing the eventually dying out of the Wizarding Society as a whole, a Unionist subgroup begin to devise methods to prove that partnering with Muggles is necessary for the survival of the species. They toy with the idea of forced Pureblood sterility. |
